Uji Kandungan Senyawa Bioaktif Saponin pada Bunga Kecombrang (Etlingera elatior)

Bunga kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) merupakan tanaman herba dari famili Zingiberaceae yang mengandung berbagai senyawa bioaktif, termasuk saponin. Meskipun potensi bioaktifnya telah banyak dilaporkan, penelitian mengenai kandungan saponin berdasarkan wilayah tempat tumbuh masih terbatas, termasuk di Desa Sausu Trans. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan kadar saponin pada bunga kecombrang dari Desa Sausu Trans. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen laboratorium. Sampel bunga kecombrang berwarna merah muda dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi analitik yang meliputi preparasi, ekstraksi, identifikasi saponin, dan penentuan kadar menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata kadar saponin sebesar 725,50 mg/100 g ekstrak, dengan nilai absorbansi 0,498–0,506 pada tiga pengulangan. Perbedaan dengan wilayah lain dapat dipengaruhi faktor geografis, ekologis, dan ekstraksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan potensi pemanfaatan saponin dalam pembelajaran biologi berbasis riset lokal.
