Pengaruh Media Patterning Board terhadap Kelancaran Membaca Siswa Kelas III SD dengan Kesulitan Belajar

Siswa kelas III sekolah dasar dengan kesulitan belajar sering kali mampu mengenal huruf dan kata, namun belum mencapai kelancaran membaca yang optimal. Kelancaran membaca (reading fluency) merupakan komponen penting dalam proses decoding dan menjadi prasyarat utama bagi pemahaman bacaan. Salah satu pendekatan yang berpotensi meningkatkan kelancaran membaca adalah latihan pengurutan pola visual melalui media Patterning Board. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media Patterning Board terhadap kemampuan kelancaran membaca siswa kelas III SD dengan kesulitan belajar. Penelitian menggunakan desain pra-eksperimental one-group pretest–posttest tanpa kelompok kontrol dengan sampel 25 siswa yang dipilih secara purposive. Intervensi diberikan selama empat minggu dan kelancaran membaca diukur menggunakan indikator Words Correct Per Minute (WCPM). Setelah data memenuhi asumsi normalitas melalui uji Shapiro-Wilk, analisis dilakukan menggunakan uji t berpasangan. Rata-rata skor kelancaran membaca meningkat dari 62,06 WCPM menjadi 101,24 WCPM (p < 0,001). Dalam konteks desain pra-eksperimental ini, disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media Patterning Board berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kelancaran membaca siswa dengan kesulitan belajar.
