Studi Komparasi Antara Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning dan Self Directed Learning terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa

This study aims to determine the differences between the Discovery Learning learning model and the Self Directed Learning method on the problem solving abilities of XI grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Kuok. This type of research is quantitative research, with the research model used is Quasi Experiment. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMK Negeri 1 Kuok with a total of 99 students. The sampling technique used was a random sample tech-nique. The research subjects were divided into two, namely class XI TPHP as a Discovery Learning class and class XI ATP as a Self Directed Learning class. Retrieval of research data using a posttest instrument (test of learning outcomes) that has been validated. The results showed that the TPHP class with 36 students obtained an average mathematics learning out-come of 60.64 and was in the sufficient category, the lowest score obtained was 25 and the highest score was 90, while the ATP class with the same number of students was 36, obtaining an average mathematics learning outcome of 72.22 is in the high category, the lowest score ob-tained is 50 and the highest score is 90. The analysis prerequisite test uses the Normality Test and Homogeneity Test. Analysis of hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test obtained tcount = 3.240 with Sig. 0.002. The P-value obtained is <0.002, namely (0.002 <0.05), then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, this means that there are differences in mathematics learning outcomes between students of the Discovery Learning and Self-Directed Learning models on the Problem Solving Ability of Class XI Students at SMK Negeri 1 Kuok.
